Teenage singing sensation Adele will collect her Brit Award, the Critics Choice prize, tonight at the awards ceremony at Earls Court.

The Critics Choice Prize is for the new artist most likely to succeed, was introduced to the awards for the first time for this year, although the winner was actually announced in December.

Although Adele had a recording contract with trendy XL records dating back to 2006, her only recording at the time of winning the prize, was a limited edition single Home Town Glory.

Since then Adele has released the number one single Chasing Pavements and number one album 19 in the space of a few weeks.

She will be seen performing on stage at the awards with producer Mark Ronson, who himself is nominated for three awards.
