The best selling American Boy band of all time, Backstreet Boys, are about to embark on a massive European tour to promote their soon to be released album This Is Us. Tickets for the concerts are now on sale for all of the European dates.
The This Is Us tour starts in Lisbon, Portugal in October extending into the UK in November and continuing around central Europe into the beginning of December.
Backstreet Boys were launched by Lou Pearlman in 1993 and eventually became the best selling boy band of all time with 13 US top 40 hits and album sales in excess of 200million. Original band member Kevin Richardson left the band in 2006 just after the band had re-launched their career with a dramatic change in musical direction.
The band have most recently been in the studio working on their seventh album This Is Us. The album is due to be released to coincide with the start of the This Is Us Tour and the first single Straight Through My Heart was released this week.
Backstreet Boys will warm up for the European tour with two shows at the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix on September 26 and 27, and will play their first date in the UK in Newcastle on November 3.
The band have a huge back catalogue of crowd pleasers to draw on and as well as performing tracks from the latest album, are sure to include some of the older hits too, stuff like Quit Playing Games (With My Heart), Everybody (Backstreet’s back), Shape Of My Heart and I Want It That Way, would be on most fan wish lists.
Also on fan wish lists would be to see Kevin Richardson join the band on stage once again as he did in one of the Backstreet Boys last shows on the Unbreakable Tour earlier this year in Los Angeles. On that occassion Richardson turned up to deafening screams from the audience before singing Shape Of My Heart with the band.
