Alexander Price releases ‘In The City‘ via Toyboy Records

“In The City” / “I Love Your Music” is the new single to be released by electro / pop artist Alexander Price.

To help promote the new single, Alexander Price will be playing Divine Incest @ Ghetto in London this weekend.

The double A-Side release, a collaboration between Alexander and acclaimed DJ / producer Andrew Friendly (Ministry of Sound Ibiza) embodies Alexander’s own story and the experience of witnessing his energetic and innovative visual act live. With its with it’s ultra radio friendly chorus, the anthemic ‘In The City’ explores Alexander’s escape from suburbia and explore his passion for what the city has to offer – living in London’s edgy neighbourhood of Dalston, partying like the emerging popstar he is and wearing exclusive designs tailor made by himself which will be available on his own fashion label in 2010.

‘In The City’ captures the live show energy perfectly and is the follow up to the uber cool and successful kitsch pop debut hit ‘Spend A Little Time’ which delivered Alexander to the national media earlier this year, including a 9 out of 10 review from iDJ Magazine and frequent international airplay on stations including BFBS Radio and Joy 94 in Australia, plus extensive print coverage with features in Bent Magazine, Top Gayer Magazine, Out Magazine and Gaydar Nation. A successful debut was capped when Alexander was invited to perform on stage with one of his own idols, the fashion designer and musician Pam Hogg at London’s leading live music venue The Luminaire. The video for his first single was filmed at The National Film Theatre and videos for both new tracks will be supported by videos produced and directed by acclaimed music and film director John James Fox.

After training at the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School in London alongside classmates Amy Winehouse and Billie Piper, Alexander graduated with a degree in Contemporary Dance/Choreography, Alexander was finally on the road as an artist and performer. Alexander soon realised he had a knack for crafting memorable, catchy hooks and delivering sharp vocals that expressed both urgency and vibrant energy. The music suddenly began gracing the boxes of some of the capital’s hottest DJs, and his live shows, always a visual spectacle, began to attract large numbers of excited audiences in venues like Blow Up @ Metro and Heaven, leading to being invited to perform at Madame JoJos, The Luminaire and 333 to name a few.

talent at christmas

Earlier this year young entertainers from schools and youth organisations across London were invited to audition for a place in the grand finale of the Talent at Christmas spectacular that will tale place at Indigo2 on 21st December.

The talent show and club night for under 18’s has been put together by Sam Bradley, an aspiring seventeen year old who has secured the services of Ms Bratt and Dionne Bromfield, who will be making special appearances on the night.

Audience members will judge the talent on the night, voting for their favourite act by text. They will also get an exclusive performance from one of London’s hottest chart-toppers and the night will culminate in a party, with one of the capital’s finest west-end DJS on the decks.

Propaganda is an indie music club phenomenon, with over 10,000 people attending its club nights across the UK every week. Kate Nash is a hit singer song-writer with a number 1 album under her belt. Propaganda is very pleased to present a Kate Nash DJ set at Camden Town’s KOKO, the UK’s most prestigious indie venue!

Propaganda is the UK’s biggest indie club night with 8 nights across the country including the esteemed Friday night slot at the brand new £5 million Gatecrasher Birmingham.

The indie club night has recently been featured in Heat Magazine, The Independent, The Daily Mirror & NME. Whilst Propaganda creator DJ Dan is Oasis’ after show party DJ of choice.

Propaganda’s residents are some of the biggest indie DJs in the country and have DJ’d at the Reading Festival, played indie in Ibiza, New York & across the UK. Desdemona Plays Pop are a DJ duo (Ruth and Ed, TV presenters by day) who spread their infectious love of partying through 80’s and 90’s classic tunes, dressing up and dancing.

Fresh from supporting Belinda Carlisle at the Indig02, they have recently announced a new residency at trendy Shoreditch bar, the Horse and Groom.

Desdemona Plays Pop have been very favourably reviewed by the London Paper as an unpretentious and genuinely fun night out, and are perfect for alternative hen’s nights – and anyone who loves to dance but hates snobbery.

Ruth says, ‘In the past people would get dressed up, get tipsy – then go out and dance their socks off! Our night is about reasonably priced drinks, no long queues or door snobbery – plus we take requests for your favourite songs.’

The Desdemona Plays Pop night is on every third Friday of the month, entry is free and there are cheap drinks on offer all night, so it’s a welcome relief from the pressures of the recession.

Clubbers are actively encouraged to don leg-warmers and ra-ra skirts, and if they don’t have any of their own then they can loot the dressing up box brought along by Ruth and Ed. There are also 80’s films on show.
