Cliff Richard and The Shadows are currently performing a massive UK  pop concert tour to celebrate their Golden Anniversary in the music business, in what is very likely to be a farewell tour to their many fans across the country.

Incredibly Cliff and The Shadows have been in the musical spotlight for over fifty years,  their first UK number one was Living Doll a song written by Lionel Bart who later wrote the music and lyrics for the musical version of Oliver.

Living Doll was a hit way back in 1959 but it was Cliff’s previous single Move It in 1958 that John Lennon referred to as the first English rock and roll record. Move it reached number two in the UK.

It is well documented that Cliff Richard is the only artist to have recorded a number one single in five consecutive decades, doing so from the 1950s to the 1990s, he also shares the record with Elvis Presley as the only artist to have made the UK singles chart in all of its decades 1950s to 2000s. In his career Richard has sold over 250million records and has had more than 130 albums in the top twenty, more than any other artist.

The 50th Anniversary tour is already under way but Cliff Richard tickets are available for many of the upcoming concerts. Expect to see a fantastic show of hits from Cliff and The Shadows and possibly a couple of new tracks from the latest album recorded to commemorate the anniversary.
