Elviin’s story is worthy of a mention, particularly in the current age of manufactured pop stars who hope to find fame and fortune through the likes of TVs X Factor and the like and proves that hard work and determination will eventually be the key to achieving your dream.
Imagine buying a piano that you don’t know how to play with a credit card you know you can’t pay off anytime soon and then hot-footing it home and writing songs until your fingers bleed. In Elviin’s case, this particular leap of faith marked the start of a 2 year journey that would culminate in him recording his debut album in LA with Tony Hoffer.
Within 18 months of purchasing the piano, Elviin had reached a standard where he was confident enough to gig and to write his own material. His childhood friend Jack Penate helped him find the confidence to pursue his dream, although it was not all plain sailing.
Elviin recalls playing so fast during his first gig that he thought he would pass out during one song – having forgotten to breathe – wanting to get it over before anyone noticed that he was playing keyboards with just two fingers.
Working alongside other musicians was Elviin’s next step and not only did it improve his playing technique but it also fuelled his song writing. A healthy MySpace following came next, followed by tours with Jack Penate and Adele.
Within two years Elviin was in LA recording his debut album with Tony Hoffer. The result is ‘Made Of ‘ a wonderfully uplifting pop music album that will surely catapult Elvin into a household name.
The album Made Of and the single Good Books will be released in January 2010 and along with other tracks can be heard on Elviin’s mySpace page.
