Emiliana Torrini - Me And Armini Remix EP
Emiliana Torrini releases a remix ep of her wonderful 2008 single, Me And Armini this week – a perfect way to end the summer.
Me And Armini is a catchy pop song fused with elements of dub reggae, reminiscent to the Dawn Penn classic You Don’t Love Me (No No No) and the summer breeze of Smile by Lily Allen. Emiliani Torrini is a very talented Icelandic songwriter with a beautiful voice.
On Me And Armini Emiliana’s songwriting and voice is perfectly coupled with Dan Carey’s perfect production. Emiliana & Carey had worked together before last year, most notably when they co-wrote / produced Slow for Kylie Minogue, and individually when Emiliana sang Gollum Song on the Lord Of The Rings soundtrack.
Me And Armini is about a stalker’s love.
I am alive, I know my place
I belong in your arms again
And I been waiting for you, to belong to me.
The beautiful yet lonely lyrics are perfect for the catchy hypnotic beat. Emiliana recounts a true story of how an Icelandic policeman marched an obsessive fan of hers back to the airport. The fan had travelled all the way from Italy to come and live with Emiliana in her Icelandic family home.
This new four track EP includes two remixes of the single and is available as a digital download only.
Dan Carey’s own Mr Dan’s Magic Typerwriter remix & a dub remix by Italian dub specialist, Simone Lombardi which accentuates the Dawn Penn comparison.
