Eugene McGuinness new single - Fonz
Domino Records have announced the release of Fonz, the second single on 23rd February 2009. Fonz is taken from Eugene McGuinness’ recently released much acclaimed self-titled full length debut.
Fonz is a slice of playful pop perfection with a post-punk edge. Possibly the most upbeat and infectious track on Eugene’s wonderful album, it sits amongst unapologetically romantic songs, portraying Eugene’s cheekier side (‘We said farewell and we synchronized our watches/ Arranged for the meeting of our crotches’).
With a lyrical nod to Scott Walker (which, coming from a twenty-two year old adds that extra bit of poignancy), Fonz is imaginative and utterly charming, in Eugene McGuinness’ own unique, inimitable style.
Fonz will be available on 7” (RUG316) and via digital download (RUG316D).
