Girls Aloud have established themselves as one of the UK’s biggest pop bands, even if Lady GaGa hadn’t heard of them before the Brits!
Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, Cheryl Cole and Kimberley Walsh, collectively known as Girls Aloud have come a long way since appearing on TV talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.
Five studio albums later: Sound Of The Underground (2003), What Will The Neighbours Say (2004), Chemistry (2005), Tangled Up (2007) and Out Of Control (2008) and Girls Aloud are about to embark on their fifth UK Arena Tour.
Not only have they outlasted other talent show wannabies, they have had 20 consecutive Top 10 UK singles, including four number 1 singles and two number 1 albums; and last week, after performing The Promise live at The Brit Awards it was voted Best Single of the year for 2008.
Among their many fans, Girls Aloud can count on celebrities likes Neil Tennant from the Pet Shop Boys, Mark Morriss, Bloc Party, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, Chris Martin of Coldplay, the b (who appeared on the Girls aloud Christmas tv show), and the Arctic Monkeys – who recorded an acoustic version of Love Machine for Jo Wiley’s Radio 1 Live Lounge.
Last November, Girls Aloud announced dates for their Out of Control Tour 2009. Tickets sold out faster than an England football crowd can ‘boo’ Ashley Cole, so now the tour will include extra concert dates, though Girls Aloud concert tickets are still very hot property!
The revised Girls Aloud Out of Control Tour 2009 will now play a record-breaking four nights in Cheryl Cole’s hometown of Newcastle, three dates in Belfast, Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool, and four dates in Manchester and five dates in London – three nights at the O2 Arena and two at Wembley Arena.
Additionally, Girls Aloud are supporting Coldplay at Wembley Stadium on 18 September 2009.

I’m not really a fan of them (well, I might be a fan of their looks) but they deserve all of the success they’ve achieved. I have a feeling this will be their last major tour.
