Sex Pistols singer John Lydon has told the Sun that he would like to write songs for Britney Spears.

“I haven’t written a song for Britney yet but I would love to” Lydon told the newspaper, adding that her recent troubles would be great inspiration for some good music.

In his inimitable way, Lydon said “I’d like to help out because there’s a girl who needs some help. She’s been hurt. And hurt is the root core essence of good music.”
