Brighton based band The Kooks have revealed plans to stage their own music festival in the next couple of years.
The band told the Daily Star that they were looking to plan their own festival in the South of England at “somewhere like Stamner Park near Brighton, where we live.”
The Kooks claim that Glastonbury’s days as the premier UK music festival are coming to an end, inspiring them to consider holding an event of their own.
“Although Glastonbury is the best in the world, something like that can’t really carry on. It’s getting too big. We love playing Glastonbury, but we couldn’t walk anywhere last year as it was so full. And where you have so many people there it’s hard to get a vibe.”
The band joined the criticism of this years line up saying “Jay-Z is a weird choice but he’s a phenomenal artist.” They added that their perfect headliner for Glastonbury would be Neil Young, followed by The Eagles and Bob Dylan.
