Following her performance in the finals of the Hollyoaks Music Shows unsigned act competition, Marla will be releasing the track that impressed everyone Lipstick For The Vampires, on May 24th.

Marla performed the track in the final of the Hollyoaks competition that was broadcast live on prime time UK TV, and the record has been produced by Jony Rockstar who has worked with Sugarbabes and Lily Allen amongst others.

2010 already looks set to be a great year for Marla, she has recently finished writing material for her debut album and in the process has worked with some of the leading writers and producers in the industry, including Blair Mkitcheon, Matt Primes & Bleu who’s combined previous credit include the likes of SIA, Lilly Allen, Paloma Faith, Natalie Imbruglia & the Jonas Brothers.

She has also had significant success in the field of sync in film/TV, with her song ‘40 Winks’ already heard by many in Lindsay Lohan’s comeback film, ‘Labor Pains‘ in 2009.

On top of this, UK audiences have heard Marla’s emotional song ‘Home’ in the highly rated new BBC3/ Switch series ‘Off the Hook’. ‘Home’ also features in the upcoming film ‘Café, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt & Jamie Kennedy released later this year, and other tracks feature in “The Passage” and soon to be released “Star Crossed” both directed by Mark Hellar.

The fun and quirky music video for ‘Lipstick’ was shot in New York, directed by acclaimed commercial director Carl Byrd (The creative behind the GAP, Target and Macy’s campaigns) and makes a perfect accompaniment to Marla’s debut single, showcasing her upbeat and original musical style.

As the video is not yet available, here is a behind the scenes look at Marla on the video shoot in New York.
