A free give away of the latest McFly album boosted sales of The Mail On Sunday by 300,000 it is estimated, giving the newspaper a circulation of 2.4million for last weekend.
The Mail On Sunday are said to be very pleased with the figures, the first time a current pop band has launched an album in such a way. “We have brought in a whole new audience that wouldn’t have talked about the Mail On Sunday.” said managing director Stephen Miron.
McFly failed to beat the 2.8million papers sold when Prince’s Planet Earth was given away last year.
If you missed your free copy of Radio:Active the latest McFly album, don’t fret as it will be on sale in the shops on September 8th, with four additional tracks and a DVD and Booklet.
