Scary Spice or Melanie Brown as she is known these days is teaming up with Janet Jackson to record a track for her latest album, in a vain hope to rebuild her solo career.

Her last album LA State Of Mind released in 2005 and featuring songs from her stint in the musical Rent, along with some of her own songs, failed to impress her fans, selling just 670 copies in its first week.

Melanie  remains upbeat and says “I’m not scared of having another try. I am working with the best producers ever. I am now ten tracks into my new record.”

As well as working with Janet Jackson, Melanie is hoping to record something with Missy Elliott who she teamed up with in 1998 for her biggest solo success with the song I Want You Back, which reached number one in the UK.

She describes the new album as  an ‘R&B-Pop kind of thing, Urban Pop’ adding “That’s what I do best.”
