Queen New Album And Tour In September

John Williams - Friday 21.03.08, 15:52pm

The remains of Queen have announced details of their first new album in thirteen years, it will be called The Cosmic Rocks, and will be released in September.

Original singer Freddie Mercury has been replaced by former Free frontman Paul Rodgers. John Deacon is not involved in the album, having quit the music business some years ago.

Surviving members of the band Brian May and Roger Taylor have written the album, the first that will not include the vocals of Mercury. Their last album in 1995 Made In Heaven, featured material that the singer had recorded before his death.

The band will embark on a 14 date European tour with six dates in the UK, to coincide with the albums release.

    How ridiculous is this?

Queen without Freddie Mercury (and John Deacon) is like The Jam without Paul Weller. Maybe once Weller dies the other two can get Jimmy Pursey to sing for them and record a new album, and in the process use a global brand to sell something safe that will obviously never be as good as it is missing key ingredients.

Apparently Ringo Starr is reforming The Beatles!
