The efforts of Jo Hamilton and her beautiful 2009 album Gown were rewarded at the Recharged Radio awards held at 93 Feet East in London last week, where she quite rightfully scooped three awards.
Jo Hamilton was awarded with The Best Single (Pick Me Up), The Best Album (Gown) and The Best Folk Act prizes at the event, a fair reward for what I consider one of the best and most original recordings of 2009.
Pick Me Up had previously featured as a Best of My Space track, in conjunction with NME radio, the track received extensive support and airplay from BBC Radio 2 and was also featured on Tom Robinson’s BBC 6 Music radio show.
Hamilton will release the follow up single Think of Me on May 25th through Poseidon Music, continuing to spread the magic of the exceptional album Gown.
