Newbury teenager Sarah McIntosh is The Good Natured, an aspiring singer songwriter who has already played a clutch of live gigs and will be appearing at the Isle of Wight Festival on the Strongbow Stage in less than two weeks time.
Stuff that dreams are made of it maybe, but McIntosh has already self produced a debut EP called Warriors in 2009 and is now set to make a big splash into the world of pop music with her single Your Body Is A Machine, which is released on July 5th.
The single feature remixes by Zebra & Snake, Body Language, Aspirins for My Children, Radioproof and Baby Monster. The Zebra & Snake remix is featured on the Kitsune Maison compilation released 26 April, having picked up radio support from top djs Huw Stephens, Nick Grimshaw, Steve Lamacq and Kissy Sell Out.
Your Body Is A Machine is a driving, dark and subtly dramatic left-field pop song: musically atmospheric – inspired by the likes of Japan and David Sylvian – and lyrically intense (“We are influenced by our self love and benevolence”).
And then there is her voice, a strange, steely thing, simultaneously emotionally involving and quietly repressed, calling to mind the clipped tones of Ladytron and Neil Tennant in equal measure.

The world is enjoying an influx of incredibly young female talent from the UK. Driving beats, deep lyrics from artists that should be much more experienced, combined with leading edge looks and fashion….produce a wonderful listening escape. I look forward to giving this artist all of my money at her next show or CD release.
