Hurts have announced their follow up to the single Stay will be a special Christmas song called All I Want For Christmas is New Year’s Day. The song will be made available as a free download from iTunes for one week commencing December 14th and released physically the following week.
Happy yet dark and with a nostalgic Christmas feel, the single is one of many this year that announce a firm return to the traditional one off Christmas songs from pop artists that have been in short supply in recent times.

Hurts – All I Want for Christmas is New Year’s Day
Hurts debut album Happiness was the fastest selling debut album by a new UK band this year, the album entered the UK charts at number 4 and reached number one in several countries across Europe.
In fact Hurts have done exceptionally well throughout Europe this year, their single Wonderful Life hit number one in five different countries and has been played over 11million times online.
The band also enjoyed a massive sold out tour of Europe in October as well as headlining the NME Radar tour and performing at various festivals across the UK during this year.
Hurts have announced details of a new UK tour to take place in February next year, but inbetween time you can catch them supporting Scissor Sisters in December, see full listing below:
