The song was written during the recording of Viva La Vida and is currently being played in live shows, with drummer Will Champion on vocals.

I have to say the ‘live’ version is so much better than the album recording, check it out here and decide, but Duffy is no dancer thats for sure!

British soul singer Joss Stone has been asked to write and record the campaign song for presidential hopeful Barack Obama, says a report in the Sun.

Stone was asked personally by Obama to write a song that will be the theme tune for his election campaign, apparently seeing Stone as appealing to both black and white US citizens.

Stone who has become a huge success in the states is convinced that Obama will become the first black US president and is said to be honoured to be part of that.

Britney opened the proceedings last year with a lip-synched performance of Gimme More, but appeared in dreadful shape and her performance was slated as an ‘embarrassment’. The report suggests that organisers of the bash are ready to give Spears a chance to redeem herself at this years show.

A ’source’ told Now, “Britney’s transformation has been dramatic. After last year, when she turned up to the VMAs and put on an amateur show, we’ve got high hopes that she’ll really impress this year.”

The MTV Video Music awards take place on September 7th and will be hosted by Russell Brand.

My Tiger My Timing are Anna Vincent (vocals/keyboards), James Vincent (vocals/bass/guitar), Harrison (vocals/bass/guitar) and Gary Drain (vocals/drums).

The band come from New Cross in south east London and formed earlier this year and are already receiving good reviews. They plan to make experimental pop music with strong rhythms and melodies.

They reference Fun Boy Three, Talking Heads, Arthur Russell and Orange Juice among their influences and like the new music from bands such as Plugs, Post War Years, Esser and Lykke Li.

“We are inspired by London, by our hearts, by buildings, parties, black holes and space, but mainly we love music. We put that love into our work so other people can feel it too”, said Anna.

Commenting on the leak, Muse said: “The MP3 floating around on the message boards at the moment is a track we recorded with Mike Skinner a few months ago.
The track was the result of a late-night jam session and something we did for a bit of a laugh featuring a blues riff we have been playing live recently upon which Skinner recorded some vocals. The song has found it’s way to the top of the UK chart, having already topped the charts in Ireland for the second week.

This track makes me think of a poor mans Summer Of ‘69 by Bryan Adams, but without the originality of Adams hit. Kid Rock finds his inspiration in the piano chords from Warren Zevon’s Werewolves of London and the hook from Sweet Home Alabama.

But the songwriting is pretty abysmal and I am amazed at how this track ever got released.
